cci Statement of faith
We believe...the scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God and revelation of Himself to man. It is the divine, infallible and authority of all Christian faith and life (Isaiah 40:8; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
We believe... there is but one triune God- creator of heaven, earth, and all mankind in divine three-fold manifestation and relationship: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Distinguishable but indivisible, co-equal and co-existent (Isaiah 40:28, Romans 1:19-20, Ephesians 4:4-6).
We believe... The Father - He is eternal, self-existent, the source, the absolute (Genesis 1:1; John 1:10-12; John 3:16; 1 Peter 1:2).
We believe... The Son - He is the redeemer, coming into the world through divine conception and virgin birth, conceived of the Holy Spirit. He is the mediator between God and man. He came in the flesh, died, rose again and is seated at the right hand of the Father, ever making intercession for us. (Matthew 1:21-23; I Timothy 2:5).
We believe... The Holy Spirit - He is the regenerator, sanctifier, and the perfector: brings conviction, converts, instructs, indwells and empowers all believers for service, revealing The Son and the Father. (John 14:16-26; Romans 8:11).
We believe... by God alone, by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, God provides salvation for man through Christ atoning death (I Corinthians 15:3; II Corinthians 5:21). Hebrews 9:22 teaches, "without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin." Christ sacrifice at Calvary provided justification and salvation for all to be saved. To obtain spiritual life, one must repent, believe and obey the gospel. If any man be in Christ he is a new creation. (St. John 3:3; 16; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8); (II Corinthians 5:17).
We believe... that water baptism is commanded in Scripture (Matthew 28:19). All who repent are to be baptized (St. Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47-48; Colossians 2:12). We water baptism is an outward testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life, that gives evidence to an inner change (Romans 6:1–8).
We believe... in the imminent, return of Jesus to rapture His church. (Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 4:16-18). There will be bodily resurrection of all the dead. He will judge and divide the righteous from the wicked. He will establish His kingdom as King of heaven and earth.
