Our
Back To Church Sunday
(B.T.C.S) Experience

National Back to Church Sunday began in 2009 as church attendance in America was declining. Church leaders began to look for ways to involve their congregations. The goal was to reach out and invite friends, neighbors and coworkers to come back to, or try church for the first time.

Each September since then, we have set aside the third Sunday in September as the day to encourage everyone to attend a Bible-based church in their area and for church leaders to create a welcoming,
inviting environment for their visitors.
Incredibly, since 2009, more than 4-million Christ-followers have participated through over 40,000 churches…and the movement continues to grow.
Now, more than ever, people need Jesus and a caring community where they can belong, grow and flourish. This September, we would love for you to be a part of introducing your community to Jesus,
so they can experience His hope and reconnect with others during National Back to Church Sunday!

How did CCI start with National Back To Church Sunday?
BTCS began with research at the end of 2016, after much praying for ideas on how CCI can get people back to church. We also wanted to reach and connect with the community. we met with the late Bishop Joseph Nathaniel Williams, and he immediately saw a unique opportunity for outreach. We began to seek and implement strategies, believing God for great things.
This idea and execution was rolled out by The Ministry of Information Team. Elder LaSonya Thomas the MOI director, embraced different systems and gathered feedback, all geared towards making this special day a success.
The M.O.I team under the guidance of the Late Bishop Williams, decided our first BTCS service would be held on Sunday September 17th 2017.
We did everything possible to reach our membership on roll, and our surrounding neighborhoods. We went house to house, we canvassed in the east, west, north and south of our church. The outreach teams increased as we got closer to the inaugural BTCS service. We touched residents as well as businesses, we witnessed to the unsaved and the depressed.
Our first service was great, people from the neighborhood showed up, members invited their family and friends, and Pastor Darrell Thomas delivered a relevant, revolutionary, life changing word.
Souls were saved and the altar was filled.

We saw greater success in 2018, and the greatest success thus far in 2019. Then came the pandemic of 2020, 2021 and 2022, it caused churches across the globe to shutter it's doors. As the world looks forward to life getting back to some sort of normalcy, we are praying and believing God for souls to come, we are going after the lost, the backslidden and the downtrodden in the name of Jesus.
This is the perfect vehicle to systemically reach people innovatively.
Come and join us for Back To Church Sunday 2023, we're expecting a mighty move of God.
See you on Sunday 17th September 2023 @10:00am.
